Mental Auric Layer
The Mental Layer or third layer of the aura is associated with the vibrational level of thoughts and mental processes of the ego and related to the third (Navel or Solar Plexus) chakra as well as your personal power. It indicates the thoughts and attitudes of the person and extends three to eight inches out from the body. It is composed of a finer substance than the emotional body and usually appears as a bright yellow light radiating about the head and shoulders and extending around the whole body. The light will appear stronger and pulsating when the person is concentrating on mental tasks. The mental body is also a structured body. It contains the structure of your ideas reflecting your linear thinking processes and your thought forms can also be seen in this layer. The stronger and more ingrained these thought forms are, the greater is their definition within the mental body. The color of the thought forms in the mental layer shows the nature of your emotions attached to them.
This layer is the quality of our physical vitality and liveliness. This is related to how vigorous we approach our lives. If our energy in this layer is strong and clear, it will have good levels of physical energy, and we feel able to cope with life's demands. If this layer is low on energy or feeling sluggish and run down, the energy of the vital auric body may be depleted, congested or weak. This auric layer is the energy you use to manifest or alter circumstances surrounding you. Many consider this aura as the magic of the auric levels because it is where you can create whatever the soul desires. It is the mechanism for fulfilling your destiny and for interpreting the map that will guide you through life.
The lower 3 astral layers are concerned with the manifestation of the physical and are said to make up your personality. It is also believed by some that they start to develop at conception and dissolve at death.
