Third Eye Chakra
The "Third Eye Chakra" is associated with the color of the indigo mandala. Now consider using all of your five senses to help you open and balance your seven chakras. First, focus on your breathing. As you breathe slowly in and out, let your body relax. When you are ready, allow yourself to begin to focus on your third-eye energy center.
Focus on a deep indigo color as you inhale. Let this beautiful color flow over any negative colors and sweep them out of your third-eye chakra as you exhale. You may feel a certain vibration that is special to that center. You may be able to sense a certain tone that helps to open and balance your third-eye chakra.
As you breathe in and out, you may sense that perhaps there is a special smell or even a taste that you can relate to your third-eye energy center. Experiment using your different senses to help you open and balance your third-eye chakra and bring the strongest image into a clear focus. Now anchor that image with a touch to your third eye or with a special word or phrase. Release your connection, and practice reconnecting to your third-eye center by triggering your anchor.
Hand Position:
Hands at lower part of breast bone. Straight middle fingers touch at tips and point forward. Other fingers bent and touching at upper two phalanges. Thumbs point towards you and touch at tops. Focus between eyebrows. Chant the sound "AUM".

Opening the Third Eye Chakra:
Use the Chakra Meditation that uses mudras (special hand positions) and sounds to open the chakras. To enhance the effect, the sounds are chanted to cause a resonation in your body that you can feel at the chakra area they are meant for. When the mind becomes really still, for example after a week of intensive meditation practice. We tend to open up to subtle sense impressions that normally would pass by unnoticed. One could say that intensive meditation increases awareness of mental energy.
Sit cross-legged and meditate for 15 to 30 minutes at a time, once or twice per day, while focusing on the slow clockwise movements of the corresponding color of the mandala. Envision the spinning vortex of energy at the location of the third eye chakra. Take 7 to 10 deep breaths, breathing in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, then chant the sounds for approx. three times and breath.
For pronunciation: "A" is pronounced "ah" and "M" is pronounced "mng".
