In parapsychology, an aura is defined as a field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding a person, plant, animal or object. The depiction of such an aura often denotes a person of particular power or holiness. Sometimes, however, it is said that all living things and all objects manifest such an aura. Often it is held to be perceptible, whether spontaneously or with practice, and such perception is at times linked with the third eye. Various personality traits are associated with the colors of the different layers of the aura.
THREE AURA TYPES
There are three different types of auras surrounding the human body. The types are as follows:
Physical Aura
Several energy and matter fields that constantly surround the body. They can be instrumentally detected.
- Thermal (inflamed): Radiated from the body, which is hotter than the surrounding air.
- Electromagnetic: Alpha and other brain waves, and waves generated by muscle action.
- Lonising Radiation: The high-voltage corona discharge aura.
- Electrostatic Sweating: Water vapor and organic molecules.
Psychological Aura
The personal space about a person, or the closest distance an observer can approach without the person feeling uncomfortable.
Projected Aura
An aura perceived about a target person, but existing only within the observer's mind.
SEVEN MAJOR AURA LAYERS
The aura has seven major layers, with each one relating to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual condition of the person. These layers relay information between the body via the chakra system and the immediate external environment. Each layer becomes higher in vibration as it extends outward, and is considered a field of energy. As with the chakra system, there are many more auric layers (potentially upwards of fifty plus), however these layers are outside the scope of this webpage.
Some scientists contend that some auras may be seen for reasons such as migraines, synesthesia, epilepsy, visual system and brain disorders, eye fatigue (also known as eye burn), or due to the influence of psychedelic drugs such as LSD.
Everything in the universe seems to be simply a vibration. Every atom, electron, elementary particle, and even our thoughts and consciousness are just vibrations. Hence, we may define the aura as an electro-photonic vibration response of an object to some external excitation. This definition is sufficient for the purpose of reading auras, providing that we can train ourselves to see the "aura" vibration.
A more scientific definition is the aura around humans is partly composed from electromagnetic (EM) radiation, microwave, and infrared (IR) spanning to Ultraviolet (UV) light. The low frequency microwave and infrared light of the spectrum is from body heat and seems to be related to our low level functions such as DNA structure, metabolism, and circulation, whereas high frequency UV light is more related to our conscious activity such as thinking, creativity, intentions, sense of humor and emotions. Auras around living objects such as people, plants, or animals change with time and often very quickly. Auras around non-living objects such as stones, crystals, or water are essentially fixed, but can be changed by our conscious intent.
The aura consist of seven major layers known as auric layers. Each one of the subtle layers exist around the physical body and has its own unique frequency. They are interrelated and affect one another and the person's feelings, emotions, thinking, behavior, and health. Therefore a state of imbalance in one of the layers leads to a state of imbalance in the others. Each layer of the aura also corresponds with a chakra.
The layer closest to the body which extends between 1-5 cm from the skin, hugging the body all the way around. As with the root chakra, this aura is related to the wellbeing of the physical body such as physical strength and animalistic nature, as well as the senses of taste and smelI. It is usually gray, white or blue in color and is the most easily seen auric layer. It can also be seen around trees, plants, animals and even inanimate objects such as furniture. A white or black background will often highlight this auric layer. Also known as Physical.
This layer extends between 5-10 cm away from the physical body and as with the sacral chakra is related to our emotions, experiences, self-acceptance and love. It communicates with the first layer and passes information into the physical body, therefore this layer is constantly in a state of change. Our current mood and unresolved emotional issues such as fears and resentments are held here. In a good state of health, this aura appears bright and colorful. These colors change as emotions change.
This layer extends between 10-20 cm from the physical body and as with the navel or solar plexus chakra is related to our thoughts and ideas. It taps into our conscious, intellectual and logical mind, and is where our beliefs and values are present. Any mental health issues are linked to this auric layer. This layer is a clear yellow, green or blue in color in a state of good health. Also known as Conscious.
This layer extends between 20–30 cm from the physical body. Our connection to unconditional love occurs in this layer, as well as our relationship with others and our loving interaction with friends and family. This layer shows an array of beautiful pastel colors such as pinks and blues when healthy and unblocked. Also known as Intuitional.
This layer extends between 30–60 cm away from the physical body and connects with the communication chakra. It is in this layer where our higher selves are able to connect with our spiritual guides and tap into our higher purpose to create our future possibilities. This layer is an x-ray or blueprint of the physical body. Blockage, illness, or negativity can be observed here, and it is usually seen as gray or blue in color. Also known as Spiritual.
This layer extends between 60–90 cm away from the body and is the place where our intuitive knowledge, dreams & spiritual awareness can be accessed. It contains all our memories and experiences of the connection we have to something greater than ourselves. It is filled with mother of pearl colors and energies, and is the layer through which you can experience spiritual ecstasy. Also known as Monadic.
This energetic field extends 90–180 cm from the physical body depending on our spiritual state and connects us to all knowledge and possibilities. It is our link to the source within us, contains our spiritual blueprint and our souls’ experiences and events for all time. This layer protects and holds all other layers together. It is a type of photographic negative of the mental and spiritual aspects of the person, is usually filled with golden shimmering light, and is surrounded by a gold or silver halo or outer rim of protection. Also known as Divine.
